Guddu Muslim was an Indian bomb maker and real estate dealer who was a former associate of Indian gangster Atiq Ahmed. He is one of the accused in the murder of Indian politician Umesh Pal.

While in school, he began to participate in various criminal activities such as robbery and extortion. In his teenage years, he met some criminals who taught him how to make bombs. When his parents came to know about his involvement in criminal activities, they decided to shift him to a relative’s house in Lucknow. He continued his studies there and while studying at Lucknow University, he met two criminals named Abhay Singh and Dhananjay Singh. Later, he was involved in various criminal activities in Lucknow along with Abhay and Dhananjay. In 1996, Gudu was involved in the murder of Indian contractor Santosh Singh. Later, Guddu moved to Bihar as the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force backed him in the Santosh Singh murder case. In March 1997, Guddu hit the headlines for the murder of Frederick J. Gomez, a physical education teacher who taught at La Martinier College, Lucknow. Dhananjay Singh was also involved in the murder. Local police later arrested Gudu Muslim in the Gomez murder, and Gudu even admitted to his crime, but was released due to lack of evidence. Later, some politicians started taking his help in getting bid pools for railways and mobile towers in Lucknow. Guddu then met Sriprakash Shukla, an Indian criminal, who assisted Guddu in various criminal activities. Gudu came to see Shukla as his mentor. After meeting Shukla in the police, Guddu met Parvez Tada, a mafia gangster from Gorakhpur. While working with Parvez, Gudu met Atiq Ahmed, an Indian politician and gangster, and assisted Atiq in various criminal activities. After Parvez Tada’s encounter with the police, he became Atiq’s close aide. Guddu was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force outside Patna’s Bhol jail in 2001 in the Santosh Singh murder case. However, Atiq bailed him out.

Some sources claim that Gudu has links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Agency. Once, Guddu also found some weapons made in Pakistan. Retired police officer Shivpujan Yadav of the police station spoke about the Gudu Muslims in an interview. He said,

In 2005, Guddu was involved in the murder of MLA Raju Pal. Initially, his name was not included in the murder case. In 2007, after the Mayawati government came to power, the case was reopened and his name was included in the case. The names of six gunmen including Gudu were included in the Raju Pal murder case.
