Gurugram primary schools reopened

Gurugram schools reopened: According to recent reports, the District Collector has withdrawn the order to keep primary schools closed in Gurugram. The order to close primary schools in the district was passed in view of the increasing air pollution in Gurugram. According to the published order, offline classes will be conducted as usual for students.

District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chairman and deputy commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav issued an order withdrawing the decision to close primary schools from nursery to class 5. The District Magistrate in the issued order stated that due to increasing pollution and based on the recommendation of Air Quality Management Commission and Pollution Control Board, Gurugram district administration has issued closure of classes from Nursery to Class 5 on November 6, 2023.

Orders have been issued to close schools and resume classes for students in online mode so that their daily classes are not disrupted. According to the new order issued, classes will continue as normal and will take place regularly in all schools in the district.

The pollution level in the city reduced by Diwali evening, but the bursting of crackers on Diwali night increased the pollution level again. However, the District Judge issued an order for the continuation of classes for primary school students. According to reports, the city’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 349 on Monday, seven times higher than normal. The Meteorological Institute announced that there is no possibility of rain in the coming days. The sky was also covered with fog on Monday due to air pollution, and visibility was between 800 meters and one kilometer from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
