Apple Martin enters its debut era.
The 20-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin attended Le Bal des Débutantes on Saturday, November 30, wearing a custom Valentino dress, which Vogue it took Valentino creative director Alessandro Michele 750 hours to create the report.
The annual fashion event introduces around 20 women aged 16 to 22 — with Lily Collins and Margaret Qualley among the women who have made their Le Bal debut in recent years.
Apple’s strapless blue Valentino dress was “crafted in six degradé layers of silk pleated chiffon, cinched at the waist with a black silk bow” and paired with matching blue Valentino sandals, per Vogue.

Apple is the first Le Bal visitor to ever wear Michele’s bespoke gown.
Apple’s parents and brother, Moses, all wore Valentino outfits to the event to support her. Gwyneth, 52, wore a dress from Valentino’s Spring 2025 collection, while Chris, 47, and Moses, 18, wore custom Valentino tuxedos.
Gwyneth shared her maternal pride, posting color and black-and-white photos of the Apple in Michele’s creation on her Instagram stories.
“My beautiful daughter in @maisonvalentino,” Gwyneth wrote.

Apple showed an interest in fashion from an early age, and first appeared on the fashion scene at the age of 18 during Paris Fashion Week 2023, when she wore a Chanel black and white dress and jacket.
Fashion journalist Derek Blasberg once said that the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld predicted that Apple would be a “Chanel girl” when she was just 4 years old.
However, a student is not considered “super trendy”.
“I love sweaters and oversized cardigans, loafers and a good pair of comfy Levi’s,” Apple told Vogue in 2023 “The most important thing for me is to feel like the real me when I wear the clothes; I aim for a combination of classic 90s and cool grandpa.”
Reflecting on her outfit at Paris Fashion Week that year, she said: “My favorite part of the look was the combination of loafers and a mini dress. It was something that was very true to my style.”

When Apple is not at school, she occasionally helps her mom with her lifestyle brand Goop. She modeled a dress for the brand back in 2020, and in 2021 appeared in a campaign for GOOPGLOW Glow Lotion, which she also helped develop.
“It’s so fun to have a daughter that age, especially because she loves clothes and leather and all that stuff,” Gwyneth said of her daughter during a 2023 interview with Bustle. “She’s more girly than me. She’s really good at putting on makeup and she loves doing it.”
