Hae Soo passed away in her dormitory in South Korea on May 12, 2023. On May 13, 2023, the police discovered that Hae Soo had committed suicide by leaving a handwritten suicide note. Her death was announced on May 15, 2023, as the investigation and identification process of the body was not yet complete. Initial reports stated that she was found dead in her dormitory; however, some later reports stated that she was in a hotel room at the time.

- Hae Soo became interested in the popular Korean Trot music after being influenced by Korean singer Joo Hyun Mi.
- Before her death, she was scheduled to perform at the Gwangju-myeon People’s Day event in Wanju-gun, North Jeolla Province, on May 20, 2023; however, the show had to be canceled after news of her death broke.
