Young and restless star Conner Floyd is engaged!
On Saturday, Dec. 21, the soap star, 32, popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, esthetician and skin care expert Carly Frei, in her hometown of Boston.
Floyd — who joined the cast The Young and restless in November 2021 as Phillip Chancellor IV, or Chance, the grandson of Jess Walton’s character, Jill Abbott — exclusively tells PEOPLE that he got down on one knee while the couple was visiting Boston Commons. They celebrated with loved ones at a party after the special moment.
“We’re big family people, so it was important to have both families together,” says Floyd. “Carly is from Boston so the city has such a special place in her heart and being there with all our loved ones I know meant a lot to her.”

Despite the cold, Boston’s winter weather created the perfect scenic backdrop for their proposal photos.
“The Boston community was covered in snow and the perfect place to propose,” adds Floyd. “It was hard to get her to walk around the park in 25 degree weather, but we did it.”
One photo taken after the special moment shows Frei placing her hand over Floyd’s face, showing off her pear-shaped diamond ring with a split gold band.
“I’ll never forget the face she made after she got down on her knees and then surprising her with a big party with our friends and families,” says the star, noting that he and Frei are grateful to everyone who helped plan their “magical day.”

According to Floyd, he made sure Frei’s family, as well as his parents and sister — who flew in from Austin, Texas for the engagement after party — were all present for the special occasion.
“Carly is the love of my life,” he says. “She means the world to me and I really wanted to make this special for her.”
Numerous Floyds Young and restless The costars shared their well wishes after the newlyweds shared one of their engagement photos together on Instagram.
Michael Mealor, who plays Kyle Abbott in the long-running soap, simply wrote: “Woo!! Congratulations!!” below the post, while Mark Grossman, who plays Adam Newman, commented: “Congratulations to you!!”

The couple first started dating a few years ago and made their relationship official on social media in 2020. Frei previously revealed in an Instagram post that the two first met on Valentine’s Day.
“Carly is my best girl,” Floyd tells PEOPLE. “She has done so much for me and I wanted this to be a day we will remember forever. I have truly been blessed in my life to have someone as special as Carly by my side.”
“She is my best friend and I would literally do anything for her,” he adds.
