Happy 30th birthday, Halsey!
The “Ego” singer (who uses the pronouns she/they) celebrated her 30th birthday on September 29 with a party attended by her fiance Avan Jogia and many other friends. Two days later, she posted a note on Instagram about the ups and downs of the last decade of her life.
“My life has undergone inexplicable changes over the past decade. Some have been beautiful and awe-inspiring, some have been confusing and painful,” wrote Halsey, who was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in the past two years.

“But 30 came as if those ten years had never happened, (much like the wonderful birthdays at home in Jersey before I ever heard the name Halsey) SCREAMING in the Italian-American Heritage Hall with the people I love,” the caption continued , shared alongside numerous photos from the party, which included karaoke, cake and cigars.
“I thought the only reason I was going to have all these people in the room with me at the same time was because I was in a wooden box in the center, but here we were. With cake, crying and bare feet,” Halsey said. “I don’t know how they did it. But they stopped all the noise of my twenties and replaced it with joy.”
The “Without Me” hitmaker then spoke about how the “stars” afforded her two terrifying health-related incidents in her life. “First, right before I turned 20. Challenging me for years and then giving me life-changing joy just as I slid into base, at 19,” she said, apparently referring to her 2016 diagnosis of endometriosis . year.

“And now giving my twenties a full struggle, the lesson has turned into growth, and replacing it with joy as I go from 29 to 30,” added the star. “And both times, that buzzing joy is so strong that it resolves the 9 years that preceded it.”
Halsey concluded the note by stating that “this birthday is symbolic to me for so many reasons,” as “every birthday will be until the end of time.”
“I’m so grateful to see that everyone has arrived,” she said. “Thanks for all the birthday wishes.”

In August, Halsey announced her fifth studio album, A great imitatorand he described the project as a “confessional concept album”.
She released a teaser video for the project and admitted in the clip, “I really thought this album was going to be the last one I ever made.”
