On September 3, 2023, she posted a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) in which she claimed that her husband, Bilal, had been kidnapped in Pakistan a week earlier. She explained that they were in London but Bilal had to return to Pakistan for work. Later, one night after dinner, when he was leaving his home at No. 6, Kayumabad Street, Karachi, he was abducted by people who arrived in a car. In the video, she seeks help from Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency (ISI). she says,
It has been seven days. Pilar and I are in London. He had to return to Pakistan to do some work. It was night, and when he went out after lunch, he was illegally kidnapped by some cars and the police, and taken to a certain place. Since then, there has been no news about Bilal. He was illegally and wrongly detained by some people. I request the ISI (Pakistan intelligence agency) to clarify this incident. ”
She mentioned that she and Bilal’s family had submitted a petition to a Pakistani court, but no progress had been made yet. She also accused the police of not taking any serious action in the case. In the video, she also expressed confusion about why police had taken no action in the case. She said Bilal had no political affiliation and there was no legal case against him. According to her video statement, despite their efforts to handle the matter through legal means, there has been no progress or breakthrough in the case. she says,

A 25-second video clip of Pakistani Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif walking with a woman allegedly contributed to her son’s disappearance, according to a complaint by Bilal Shah’s mother. The video was posted by Hareem Shah on her social media account. Halim Shah accused Muslim League-Sharif’s daughter and Muslim League leader Mariam Nawaz of ordering the kidnapping of her husband Bilal from Karachi.
