Rajendra Kumar actor

Rajendra Kumar (1927-1999) was an Indian actor and producer. He appeared in the films Patanga (1949), Vachan (1955), Mother India (1957), Maa Baap (1960), Do Sholay (1977), Rustom (1982) and Phool” (1993). In 1970, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Shri Medal. Rajendra Kumar has died of cardiac arrest at the age of 71.

Rajendra Kumar was born on Wednesday 20th July 1927 (71 years old; at time of death) is located in Sialkot, Punjab Province, British India (now Punjab Province, Pakistan). His zodiac sign is Cancer. He enrolled at Hailey College of Business, Lahore; however, his studies were cut short in his second year during Partition. Before entering showbiz, Rajendra Kumar worked as an assistant to director HS Rawai who tried to convince him that he was not suitable for acting but Rajendra Kumar objected to it. In 1975, Rajendra Kumar built a theater in his residence and named it the Dimple Theatre, and the venture was a success.

Relationships/Affairs

Rajendra Kumar and Sera Bhanu are screen partners and are also reportedly in a relationship. The duo starred in films such as “Ayee Milan Ki Bela” (1964), “Aman” (1967) and “Jhuk Gaya Aasman” (1968). Saira Banu is reportedly so in love with Rajendra that she wants to marry him even though he has a wife and children. Her affection was allegedly reciprocated and Rajendra was ready to leave her family for Serrabanu. Saira’s mother begged Dilip Kumar to intervene and that’s why Saira and Dilip ended up getting married. Rajendra Kumar said in Jubilee Kumar: The Life and Times of a Superstar, a book based on his life, that although the two actors liked each other, they didn’t have any ” wrong relationship”.

This film brought him success and was his first (of several) Jubilee films. His role in the film Mother India (1957) further fueled his success.

The films he starred in in the 1960s brought him fame and stardom. Sometimes, he would screen six to seven films simultaneously for more than 25 weeks, earning him the nickname “Jubilee Kumar”. He starred in several successful films that were hits at the box office. These include Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Kanoon (1960), Gharana (1961), Aas Ka Panchhi (1961), Sasural (1961), Dil Ek Mandir (1963), Mere Mehboob (1963), Sangam (1964), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1964), Zindagi (1964), Arzoo (1965) and Suraj (1966). He also appeared in the Punjabi films Do Sher (1974) and Teri Meri Ik Jindri (1975).

Rajendra Kumar died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Mumbai on July 12, 1999 at the age of 71. According to sources, he underwent treatment in the United States for 10 months due to a drop in hemoglobin. According to reports, despite being prescribed medication by doctors, he did not take any medication and his condition worsened as a result.
