Profession
In 2018, Harris Sultan published a book titled “God’s Curse: Why I Left Islam” with the help of Xlibris Corporation. His book provides a scathing analysis of scientific facts, religious aspects and Islam. Harish Sultan claims Islam is confused about the problem, he writes in his book. Haris Sultan claimed,
This book is written for those Muslims who unknowingly disagree with the fundamental values of Islam. My message to all these Muslims in between is to either condemn Islam altogether (because you don’t agree with its values) or become like the Taliban or ISIS because they are true followers of Muhammad’s Islam. This may seem cruel but the real Islam is actually the Islam of the Taliban and ISIS and living a double life, I’m sure if there is a God he would not be happy with you accepting some of his ideas. Ignore the rest. “
Harish Sultan raised three major questions about Islam, focusing on the Qur’an, which he discusses in his book God’s Curse: Why I Left Islam, which led him to leave his Religion Islam. He said,
In trying to understand the validity of Islam or any other religion, I asked three questions: 1. Is there any evidence to support this God? 2. Are the morals portrayed by this religion good? 3. Is the science of this religion correct? I want to point out here that I would be dishonest if I said I could do this all by myself. Books like The God Delusion help me understand the other side of the argument. These three questions drove me away from Islam. “
The first flaw he removed from Islam by focusing on the Qur’an was that it explained the origin of humanity, the creation of nature, and God as the eternal source. But it does not explain the origin of God. The second concern he claimed was that the status of women was an issue in Islamic morality. Homosexuality is a concept not permitted by Islamic morality, but “bandi” (slave) law allows men to own female slaves. He expressed his concerns in the book,
Ultimately, the real audience for this book is Muslim women who have been abused by the religion. I cannot fathom the sadness and powerlessness a woman feels every day in a male-dominated religion. Any sane person understands the importance of women in creating society today and in the future, yet women are seen as their only purpose is to have children and serve men. I want to reach out to women who have been abused and discriminated against by their husbands, brothers or fathers, encourage them and empower them to raise children who are different from their husbands, brothers or fathers. “
The third concern is that some of the stories in the Quran lack scientific evidence and no evidence is provided to support these claims. He believed that the Quran contained illogical claims and that people obeyed them without questioning or seeking explanations.

In April 2023, his claims were refuted by Indian fact-checking news channel Alt News, which determined that the locked grave had nothing to do with necrophilia and was not in Pakistan, but in Madana, Hyderabad, Telangana Pat. The grave is that of a 65-year-old woman, Zaheen Begum, who died in 2020. In response to the claims, Haris Sultan had to delete his tweet and apologize. The tweet read,
Thank you, @zoo_bear, to gain insight into this. While this is no excuse, I must apologize for the source of my initial information, which came from @SanamBalochfans.
This is believable because necrophilia has become a serious problem in Pakistan. This is… https://t.co/1yEm5nSlB5 pic.twitter.com/euL6mei3Np
