He is also due to talk about his life with Meghan – who is reportedly trying to “make up” with Kate and Charles – as well as the Invictus Games during the broadcast, which will air on Good Morning America with host Will Reeve.
Harry, who lives in California with his wife and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, flew to the UK last week to see the king.
He flew thousands of miles from his home in California to be with the king – but only met his father for 30 minutes.
On the Today show, Harry said: “I spoke to him. I jumped on a plane and went to see him as soon as I could.
“I love my family. The fact that I could get on a plane and see them and spend any time with them — I’m grateful for that.”
Asked if the king’s illness could have the effect of uniting the family, he added: “Yes, of course.
“Through all these families, I see the strength of the family unit coming together every day.
“Every illness, every illness brings a family together.”
It comes as…
When asked about Charles’ current condition, he said: “That remains between me and him.”

Brand new interview with Prince Harry about his life with Meghan
He said: “I have my family like all of us. My family and life in California is what it is.
“I have other trips planned that will take me through the UK or back to the UK, so I’ll pop in and see them when I can.”
Harry also shared how he had “thought” about getting US citizenship – but that he “doesn’t feel” American.
He explained, “American citizenship is something that has crossed my mind. But it’s not a big priority for me right now.”
The couple are in Vancouver this week to mark 12 months before Harry’s 2025 Invictus Games.
The Duke went on to interview former military personnel who will be participating.
He said: “These guys are the stars of the show.
“Once you leave the military, you never leave the community.”
Harry and Meghan have been criticized this week for launching a new rebranded website – using their royal titles and coat of arms – amid the monarch’s health problems.
It comes after a defiant Meghan and Harry hit back at fierce criticism for their rebrand.
They have been criticized for not consulting the royal family first, after the Queen banned the couple from using ‘SussexRoyal’ when they stepped down from royal duties four years ago.
A representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the Mirror: “We’ve heard time and time again that certain occasions are good or bad for a couple.
“They’re still here. They’re still doing and following what they believe in, despite being constantly challenged and criticized.
“This couple will not be broken.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Canada on Tuesday to mark the one year anniversary of the 2025 Invictus Games.
Why Charles bravely shared his cancer diagnosis
KING Charles has bravely broken royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.
The senior royals have been tight-lipped about their health battles in the past.
The last senior member of the royal family to be diagnosed with cancer was Charles’ grandfather George VI.
A heavy smoker, George had his left lung removed in September 1951 due to “structural abnormalities”, a few months before his death.
The “abnormalities” were actually life-threatening cancers, but the public never learned of George’s ordeal with cancer.
Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to encourage “public understanding” for cancer sufferers around the world.
The pair were photographed again at the Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in British Columbia on Thursday.
They spoke to the skeleton bobsled participants as they joined the training ahead of the Invictus Games.
CHARLES BACK TO WORK
On Wednesday. Charles immediately returned to work in London before returning to Sandringham to recuperate from further cancer treatment.
The monarch, 75, looked in good spirits this morning as he headed to Buckingham Palace on state business.
After inspecting his red boxes and meeting with palace officials, Charles returned to Sandringham by helicopter for a holiday.

The palace did not confirm the type of cancer, but it is assumed that it is not prostate cancer.
His Majesty is said to have started receiving “groundbreaking” treatment and will regularly return to the capital for care.
Charles is expected to undergo further cancer treatment as an outpatient in London this month, with the palace yet to set a date for his return to his first duties.
Since 2003, Charles has lived in Clarence House, his official London residence which is mainly used for work engagements.
Prince Harry’s bombshell interviews
PRINCE Harry’s interview on Good Morning America is his latest TV appearance.
Here’s a full list of all the other interviews Harry has done since Megxit:
March 2021 – Oprah Winfrey
Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah left viewers in shock.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that no topic was “off limits” during the explosive conversation.
The interview made a number of startling remarks, garnering more than 6,000 complaints from British viewers and even prompting a response from the Queen.
Meghan shocked the royal family when she told Oprah that Archie did not become a prince after “concerns and conversations” about “how dark” his skin would be when he was born.
The Duchess said there had been discussions with Prince Harry and a member of the “family” about their unborn son and what color his skin would be – and “what that would mean or look like”.
Meghan said: “In those months when I was pregnant, around the same time: we’re in tandem, he’s not going to get the security, the title, and also the worries and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
Oprah was stunned and replied, “What? There is a conversation…wait. Stand up. Stand up. Stop now.”
She continued, “About how black your child will be?”
Meghan replied, “Potentially, and whatever that would mean or look like.”
Meghan was pregnant with daughter Lilibet when she spoke to Oprah, announcing during the conversation that she and Harry were having a baby girl.
Her jaws dropped after she addressed her and Kate’s bridesmaids after telling Oprah that Kate made her cry ahead of her wedding.
Meg told Oprah it was hard to see “the story that didn’t happen” after it was revealed she had left Kate in tears over her requests for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
Instead she told chat show Queen: “The reverse happened.
“A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something, about the … flower girl dresses, and it made me cry. And it really hurt my feelings.
“There was no conflict and I don’t think it’s fair to her to go into the details because she apologized and I forgave her.
“What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only didn’t I do, but happened to me.”
To this day, it remains unclear what caused all the tears.
Prince Harry famously told Oprah that his father stopped taking his calls after he left royal life and said the royal family “cut him off” financially.
He said that he “didn’t have a plan” after the bombing, and the idea of cooperation with brands like Spotify and Netflix was only suggested to him later.
He told Oprah: “We didn’t have a plan.
“[Signing lucrative deals] someone else suggested to the point where my family literally cut me off financially and I had to afford security.”
However, Prince Charles’ annual review revealed that Charles actually gave both of his sons a share of £4.5m after Megxit.
May 2021 – Dax Shepard
Harry cursed as he asked podcast host Dax Shepard about what it was like to take a “high” on the drug.
During the Armchair Expert podcast, Shepard spoke candidly about his past drug use and was quizzed by the Duke of Sussex about his journey to sobriety.
Harry also revealed he feels “freer” since moving to LA, where he lives with Meghan Markle and son Archie.
He told the podcast: “Living here now I can actually hold my head up and it actually feels different, my shoulders have come down and so have hers, you can walk around feeling a bit more free.
“I can take Archie on the back of the bike. I never had the chance to do that.”
January 2023 – Tom Bradby
The Duke of Sussex spoke to an ITV reporter ahead of the publication of his memoir Spara.
Bradby asked Harry about his bombshell claim that he and William once had a physical fight over Meghan.
Harry claimed that William “grabbed me by the collar, ripped my necklace off and knocked me to the floor”.
He also hit back at claims he harshly attacked the Queen’s wife, Camilla, when they met.
Harry revealed that he said he only cried once after his mother died – and that was at her funeral.
Charles told Harry personally of his cancer diagnosis in what is believed to be a warm phone conversation.
His Majesty has suspended all frontline engagements while he undergoes cancer treatment.
It remains unclear when the king will be able to resume full public appearances.
They are expected to rest at Windsor Castle, Highgrove and Sandringham over the coming weeks and months.
