Harry Styles Clearly Gave His Groomer the Summer Off — See His Carefree Scruffy Look

Harry Styles is a man of many hairstyles.

And when he’s off duty, he’s a carefree guy who likes a bit of grooming.

The Grammy-winning singer, 30, was last seen in London on August 19 rocking a fringe-filled face and grown-out hairstyle, the result of a summer of relaxation.

Styles, who is currently on hiatus from both singing and acting, shaved off all of his hair last November, debuting the shock haircut, and has since been growing his famous locks back. However, his hair looks a little different than what fans are used to.

Harry Styles is no longer bald, reminding fans that hair does, indeed, grow back

For one thing, he’s kept it a bit lower over the past few months, including the short ‘do he showed in February. The cropped haircut was one of the shortest hairstyles fans have seen him wear in years.

And when Styles’ hair is this short, it’s definitely not that curly. While it’s been a while since we’ve seen the “As It Was” singer in real curls, a few loose curls have popped up over the years. That wasn’t so much the case this summer now that Styles is cutting his hair short.

The cut he likes this summer is short on the sides, long on top and slightly long in the back. For his outing on August 19, he wore it in a perfectly slicked-back style with the long ends at the back left loose and slicked back. He also had a good few days of scratches on his face, which he also rocked while on a well-deserved break.

Styles completed his daily look with maroon shorts, a black T-shirt, a navy jacket and sneakers. He carried a black bag and black sunglasses for the perfect casual look.

After Styles shaved off all his hair for the first time last year, fans were understandably shocked by his transformation. After all, he became famous for his curls. (When he chopped off his long hair in 2016, it was indeed a cut that got the world talking.) But too many people had too many harsh words to say about what was really just a bold haircut.

Styles’ mom, Anne Twist, was the one to take down all the negativity online about the hairstyle.

“When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, he’s always tried to make everyone feel seen and appreciated just for who they are … there’s an irony in the negativity shown to him for cutting his hair. I’m sorry, but no I don’t get it,” she wrote on Instagram a few days after Styles cut his hair. She also pointed out his catchphrase “Treat people with kindness.”
