Harsh Goenka is the eldest son of RP Goenka, founder and chairman emeritus of RPG Group. He is one of India’s renowned industrialists with over 35 years of experience.

After completing his studies, Harsh returned to Mumbai from Switzerland and was appointed Managing Director of CEAT in 1983, at the age of 24. He has played an important role in many joint ventures and partnerships within the family-owned RPG Group. A member of the Goenka family, he works with Fortune 500 companies doing business in India, including Vodafone, Fujitsu, Phelps Dodge, Yokohama and Rolls-Royce. In 1990, Harsh succeeded his father, Dr. RP Goenka, as Chairman of RPG Group.
In 2010, RP Goenka split the RPG team between his sons Harsh Vardhan Goenka and Sanjiv Goenka. At that time, the RPG Group had a market capitalization of Rs 9,150 crore and sales of Rs 13,313 crore. After the spin-off, Harsh acquired the company’s power supply business KEC International, software company Zensar Technologies, pharmaceutical manufacturing unit RPG Life Science and tire manufacturing company CEAT. Spencer Hotels International Limited is the only company still jointly owned by Sanjiv and Harsh Goenka.
Goenka’s RPG venture supports startups such as Seniority.in, an e-commerce website for senior citizens. He is the former President of the Indian Traders’ Chamber of Commerce, an Indian organization representing trade, commercial and industrial interests in India, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a non-governmental trade association and advocacy group based in India. He is a former Board Member of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE). He is a director of Bajaj Electricals Ltd and a trustee of Breach Candy Hospital Trust.
