Hayden Panettiere Debuts New Pink and Green Hair: ‘Watermelon Vibes’

Hayden Panettiere is still thinking pink!

The Scream the star (34) showed off her latest pink look, but this time with a hint of green. In a new Instagram post, the actress sported yet another new hairstyle, following her recent switch from blonde to pink.

Panettiere wore a denim chambray button-down shirt, with a full makeup look, including nude pink lip gloss and shimmery pink eye shadow that together set off her pink hair.

“I love my new watermelon 🍉 vibes up! Thank you @erickohair you are the best! Xoxo” he wrote Nashville star.

Although Panettiere sported pink highlights in September, she has not confirmed whether these new colors are permanent changes to her look.

The new look might come as a surprise, but Panettiere revealed it in March Women’s health that she privately tackled the changes in her hair. In the interview, she explained that she suffered from severe hair loss due to alcohol addiction.

Panettiere said her addiction to alcohol began when she was 22 as a coping mechanism for stress. By 2014 and after the birth of her daughter Kaya, the actress was dealing with postpartum depression and a neck injury. Panettiere explained that she would then drink alcohol to ease her anxiety and take opioid pills for physical pain.

“I should have taken antidepressants [to cope with the postpartum depression], but you have to find the right one that works for you,” explained Panettiere. “They don’t go well with alcohol, and I wasn’t ready to stop drinking.”

Then in 2015 and during production Nashville, checked into the treatment center for the first time. While she continued her career in Hollywood, acting in Nashville and Guardianshipshe repeated herself.

In an attempt to deal with stress and anxiety, the actress took a break from acting in 2018. Although she no longer worked, she still used alcohol as a coping mechanism. When she turned 30, she noticed how her addiction to alcohol began to affect her physical health.

“My body was like ‘enough,'” Panettiere said. “I’m 30. My face was swollen. I had jaundice. My eyes were yellow. I had to go to a liver specialist. I was holding on to a weight I don’t normally have. My hair was thin and came out in strands.”

During this time, Panettiere recalled that she also struggled with “sleep deprivation” as a result of her alcohol addiction. “Sleep is massive. It affects your motor skills, your ability to think and your overall health,” she explained.

By 2021, she sought professional help, entered a 12-step program and attended intensive trauma therapy.

After receiving treatment in 2021, Panettiere said her mental health had improved. “It’s a daily battle that I’m happy to say I’m winning today,” she said Women’s health.

Recently, Panettiere returned to acting and rejoined Scream franchise for the sixth film of the series.

While promoting the film, she shared further Good morning America that she worked on her mental, physical and spiritual health before returning to Hollywood. She explained it Scream was the right way to return. “And then when [Scream] showed up and came back, I said, ‘I want to be a part of it again,’” she said.
