Heartbreak for Liverpool star Conor Bradley as dad dies at 58 just days after youngster scored first Reds goal v Chelsea

LIVERPOOL star Conor Bradley’s father has died just days after the boy scored his first goal for the club.

The 20-year-old’s father died this morning, writes the Belfast Telegraph.

Joe, who was 58, died at his home in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

He was reportedly battling an illness.

A club statement read: “Liverpool FC is deeply saddened by the passing today of Conor Bradley’s father, Joe.

“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Conor and the entire Bradley family at this very difficult and sad time.

“On behalf of Conor, LFC strongly appeals that the family’s privacy is fully respected at this time.”

Tributes poured in, with one saying: “Rest in peace.”

Another added: “Condolences and courage to Conor Bradley on the death of his father. At such a terrible time, we hope it’s a comfort to see Conor living his dream at Anfield.”

A third commented: “Our hearts go out to him and his family.”

The sad news comes just three days after Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Chelsea.

Bradley produced his best performance, scoring his first senior goal for the club.

The right-back finished brilliantly to double the Reds’ lead in the 39th minute.

His goal came on either side of assists for Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Bradley has enjoyed a successful season at Anfield, making nine appearances in all competitions this season.

His first senior appearance came in the Carabao Cup against Norwich in September 2021.

The Northern Ireland international impressed last term on loan at League One side Bolton, winning their player of the year award.

Since then, Jurgen Klopp has sung his praises, saying: “What a wonderful kid he is.

“A few weeks ago when I was on holiday a few Bolton fans asked if they could bring Bradley back but it was too late.”
