Katy added: “I can relate to her feeling, on the cruise ships you perform every night, six months, doing what you love.
“But then get home and it’s hard to find your next job. It’s a very difficult career. You have a very high and low lowest and, as you grow older, start thinking what’s next?
“You can’t do your whole life, and when it has been a whole life, it’s a very difficult position to be in it.”
Another friend Daniel Mcerlean wrote: “She was such a great friend, and we all loved her for Bitova.
“She always wanted to be a performer and had such a distortion. She taught dance and theater all over the northwest.
“Even on Christmas, she made a show for her family, but when Nan died her a few years ago, it really hit her and then things began to change.
“She was a kind, kind and passionate spirit that brought so much joy and laughter. Chantel was a talent of others to anyone who was the life and soul of every party.
“Chantel was always glamorous, dressed in heels and skirts and would beautify someone’s day.”
Stephen Mear, who was director of 42 Street, paid tribute and said, “This really shocked me. Such a wonderful funny person with a big heart.
