Heart's Ann Wilson Reveals She’s 'Feeling Great' After Cancer Operation, Will Undergo Preventative Chemotherapy

Heart rocker Ann Wilson says she is “feeling great” after revealing she recently underwent surgery following a cancer diagnosis

On Tuesday, July 2, the musician, 74, reassured fans in an Instagram post that her surgery “was a success.”

“I feel great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo preventive chemotherapy and I have decided to do so,” Ann wrote in the post.

“And so my doctors are directing me to take the rest of the year off the stage to fully recover,” the “Barracuda” singer continued, revealing Heart’s Royal Flush Tour, which was originally set to kick off in Cleveland on Tuesday, July 30 and run through December will be postponed.

“To the ticket buyers, I really wish we could have these shows,” Ann said. “Please know that I absolutely plan to return to the stage in 2025. My team is working out those details and we will let you know the plan as soon as we can.”

She then shared her gratitude to fans for their support and said that she will be back on stage soon.

“This is just a break. I have a lot more to sing,” Ann concluded. “Love, Ann Wilson. With respect, this is the last public statement I would like to make on this matter.”

On Heart’s official Instagram page, the band shared a statement: “More information will be released in the coming weeks.”

Recently, Ann and her sister Nancy (70) announced the cancellation of several European concerts in June and July due to health problems.

At the time, they said Ann needed a “time-sensitive but routine medical procedure” requiring at least six weeks of recovery.

Ann then assured fans that she was “fine”.

“Please don’t worry,” the “Never” singer wrote on the platform, adding that she was sorry “for any inconvenience this may cause.”

In April and the end of May, Heart played the last of a series of North American concerts.

Heart reunited in 2019 after a three-year hiatus, and in 2023 they celebrated the group’s 50th anniversary. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
