Based on a 1993 short story by HP Lovecraft Thing on the doorstepthe upcoming erotic thriller stars Graham, 53, as Elizabeth Derby, a psychiatrist who “becomes obsessed with helping a young patient suffering from extreme personality disorder,” according to the synopsis.
“But this leads her into dark occult danger as she tries to escape a terrible fate,” the synopsis adds.

After a sexual encounter with a younger man, Elizabeth begins to question who he really is, following an out-of-body experience.

“Who are you really?” he asks, before scenes show her becoming possessed by an evil entity, wielding various weapons and wreaking havoc on those around her.
“What’s going on with you?” Elizabeth’s husband asks, to which she replies, “Me? I’m just a dandy.”
Suitable meat, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in June, is directed by Joe Lynch from a screenplay by Dennis Paoli. It also stars Bruce Davison and Barbara Crampton.
About the original story from which the film was adapted: “I read it and I could visualize it immediately,” said Crampton, 64. Entertainment Weekly. “I said, ‘I want to work on this; see if I can get (Alliance Media Partners) as crazy about it as I am.’ ”
“They read it and everyone loved it,” she added.

Describing the action on EW, Crampton described the estate as “an entity [that] traveled through time taking on the bodies of different people.”
“There’s nothing better than being able to entertain the audience, but push them a little bit,” added the actress, who is also a producer on the film.
Crampton also called Suitable meat — which EW reported that it was originally developed by Paoli and the late director Stuart Gordon — “a sexy movie.”
“I don’t think Lovecraft is inherently sexy, but Stuart Gordon’s movies always were,” she told the news outlet.
Suitable meat is in theaters and wherever you rent movies on October 27.
