Helen George comforted by Call the Midwife co-stars amid split from Jack Ashton

Helen George recently confirmed that she and Jack Ashton have split after seven years together, and the actress seems to be gaining support from her Call the Midwoman co-stars following the sad news announcement.

The wider cast of the BBC series, including Stephen McGann, who is known for playing Dr Patrick Turner, appears to be backing Helen, Stephen revealed to MailOnline that the stars are like family.

The actor also said that the actress was fine in the midst of the breakup. Helen, who is well known and loved for her role as nurse Trixie Franklin on the TV series about midwives, a role she has played since the series began in 2012, confirmed that she and Jack have decided to decided to break up “a few months ago”.

In a statement shared with the Mirror, the mother-of-two said: “A few months ago we separated. Our two beautiful daughters are still in the spotlight and I respectfully request privacy. for the next chapter”. The couple were formerly parents to daughters Wren, five, and Lark, one.

Like Helen, Jack appeared call the midwife. The actor played Pastor Tom Hereward, but left the series after the character’s wife passed away.

The couple met on the set of the BBC soap opera in 2016 while filming a Christmas special in South Africa and have been together ever since. They welcomed their first daughter in 2018 and a second daughter in 2021.

Prior to her relationship with Jack, Helen was married to Oliver Boot. The couple married in 2012 before divorcing in 2015 shortly before the actress appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. The BBC Latin and Ballroom program was a form of “therapy” for Helen after her divorce.

“Going through a divorce is horrible. They asked me to do it Serious and, as weird as it sounds, I think it’s going to be some kind of post-divorce therapy,” she told Stella magazine. You’re focusing on one thing, it’s an emotional journey.”

In the meantime, shoot a new episode call the midwife was well underway, but Helen recently faced another setback after injuring her leg. The star did not disclose the severity of the injury but appeared to be in very good spirits.

The actress shared a photo on her Instagram in which she is smiling as her cast leg is resting on the walker. Helen simply captioned the photo: “Speedy”, followed by a heart emoji.

Fans were quick to congratulate her, with one writing: “Oh my God! Wishing you a speedy recovery!” Another said: “Oh no! I love the new wheels, but I hope they last a little while!”
