Henry Kelly dead: 80s TV legend and host of Game for a Laugh and BBC’s Going for Gold dies aged 78 after ‘ill health’

TV legend Henry Kelly, who hosted his beloved laugh and BBC for gold, died at the age of 78.

The leader’s family said he “died peacefully” on Tuesday after a “bad health period”.

The family statement says today: “Henry will be very missing friends and family, including his partner Karolyn Shindler, their son Alexander, Henry’s daughter Siobhan and her mother Marjorie.”

Kelly broke into the center of attention after securing the groove for co-presidents on ITV with games at the 1981 Light Entertainment Show in the 1981 premiere.

The show was a great success and made him the name of a household throughout the country.

Kelly was also known for presenting gold from 1987 to 1996.

The lunch show show was aired on BBC1 with competitors from all over Europe.

‘Great, funny, smart and wise’

The stars and fans quickly paid tribute to Kelly after learning about his passing.

TV presenter and comedian Mark Dolan said: “The amazing Henry Kelly died. I met him as a child, when I was the first look at the live radio while he was on LBC on Gough Square.

“He was generous, funny, smart and wise. And very strict about the fact that Guinness was poured out! Rip Total Legend.”

One fan wrote on social networks: “Rip Henry Kelly, you will have a hard time missing.”

The TV legend initially began as a journalist in Irish time after graduating in English at Dublin University in 1968.

He was quickly promoted to the place of his editor based in Belfast in 1970, a place he held for five years.

In 1976 he left the Irish Times and moved to London to work as a BBC journalist on his radio 4 The World Tonight program.

Four years later, Kelly made a complete change of career at the age of 34.

He left journalism and decided to continue his second career on television, presenting light fun shows.

Kelly’s TV career then started, and the rest was history.

In 1988, he briefly returned to journalism and presided over by Dark.

Kelly also appeared as the presenter of the quiz show in the last two episodes of Victoria Wood Sitcu dinner.

The star has previously worked with Wood at her show Victoria Wood: as seen on TV in the mid-1980s.

He also occasionally appeared on Sky News Television with newspaper review Sunday morning.

He made a number of performances at the end of his career.

Kelly was married to journalist Karolyn Shindler and was in North London.

He was also survived by his daughter Siobhan and son Alex.

The TV legend is said to enjoy Golf in her spare time.
