Hina Altaf was born into an Islamic family from Karachi, Pakistan. Her father works in private and her mother is a housewife. She has two older brothers. In an interview, Hina revealed many secrets about her family, she said:
My mother has suffered from schizophrenia since I was born. She is a wonderful mother, but after everything she has been through, she can’t keep her life in balance. ”
Hina herself suffered from depression due to trauma in her life. She said,
At 14, I would lie awake at night because of the fear that what I had gone through would happen again, and my paranoia kept me awake all night. When I was shooting that scene in Udaari, I was a witness, remembering what happened to young Zebo, and I could relate to the conversations because I had experienced them in my life.”
At 21, Hina moved out of her parents’ house to focus on her mental health and her budding career. With the help of her doctors, she managed to overcome her depression and did everything she could to help her family.

On May 22, 2020, Hina Altaf married Aagha Ali Abbas, a Pakistani television actor, in a private ceremony in Karachi, Pakistan. The couple had worked together in the 2019 TV series Dile Ghumshuda.

Hina Altaf started her career as a video jockey and made her first appearance on television in 2010 on MTV Pakistan’s VJ Hunt show. She was one of the most popular contestants and ended up being the runner-up on the show. Hina worked as a VJ and hosted shows like “Play News” and “Girls Republic”. “Breaking Weekend” became her career breakthrough and her performance attracted a lot of attention.
Hina Altaf made her acting debut in ARY Digital’s TV series Maryam Kasay Jeey in 2015, where she played the lead role of ‘Maryam’. After impressing the audience with her performance in the show, she got the chance to act in many TV series including Abroo, Natak, Saya-e-Dewar Bhi Nahi, Dile Jaanam, Aatish, etc. But the TV series that made her a household name was Ek Thi Misaal, where she played the role of ‘Misaal’.
