Hoda Kotb has no problem enjoying a snack while lying in bed, while Jenna Bush Hager prefers to eat her food elsewhere.
During the August 22 episode Today with Hoda and JennaBush Hager, 41, and Kotb, 59, engaged in a friendly debate about snacking in bed, fueled by the viral hashtag #snackdrawerundermybed, which has garnered close to 30 million views on TikTok.
“There’s a new trend for like-minded people,” Kotb explained. “So there are people [who] now they are developing a snack drawer under the bed. Wherever you look, they put their snacks.”
The co-hosts released a clip on TikTok showing a person putting snacks like cookies, Rice Krispies Treats and Pringles Snack Stacks into clear plastic compartments in their under-bed storage, similar to how one might organize a cutlery drawer in their kitchen.
“I’m restocking the snack drawer under the bed just in time for a hot girls summer,” read the TikTok caption.
“Sure, it looks organized, but Rice Krispies Treats?” Bush Hager asked incredulously before Kotb said she must be “jealous” of the snack drawer concept.

The co-hosts seem to be divided when it comes to eating in bed.
“A lot of people like to snack in bed. I feel you and I’m with you. I think it’s a good idea,” Kotb said as Bush Hager cut him off: “I disagree.”
“It’s good to eat a sleeve of Ritz crackers,” Kotb continued as she mimed eating a salty snack.
“Can you imagine what a sleeve of Ritz Crackers in the first place does to your sheets?” Bush Hager asked Kotb, seemingly unconvinced.
Kotb – who is mother to two daughters, Haley Joy, 6, and Hope Catherine, 4 – insisted she likes eating Ritz Crackers in bed because it’s “comfortable”. However, Bush Hager advised Kotba to stop eating snacks in bed “because it’s crumbly.”

“Here, let me show you what you’re doing,” Kotb explained before showing how she was wiping crumbs off surfaces with her hand. Still doubtful, Love comes first the co-author told Kotb that she would give her a snack tray as a Christmas present.
“I don’t really like bugs,” Kotb replied. “So if there was a small risk of making mistakes, I wouldn’t do it.”

Earlier in August, Kotb shared a clip on Instagram of her daughters giving the TV host breakfast in bed for her birthday.
In the video, the journalist’s daughters brought out a breakfast tray full of small pancakes topped with whipped cream, and a birthday candle was sticking out in the middle.
“Lots of love. Eternally grateful! ❤️❤️❤️,” Kotb captioned the post.
