Hoda Kotb Reveals She's Working to Make Her Next Big Career Move This Spring: 'I'm in the Building Process'

Before Hoda Kotb says goodbye to Today show, reveals what could be waiting for her next!

Kotb, 60, appeared on the Monday, Jan. 6, episode The Kelly Clarkson Showand host Kelly Clarkson cheekily asked the renowned journalist about her future plans.

“However, I must say, madam, as soon as I was told you were not working today’s show, I thought, ‘So what’s that bitch doing?’ ” Clarkson, 42, joked. “I thought, ‘Because there’s no way you’re not doing anything.’ You are me, you like problems, you like to work.”

“I like things, I do,” Kotb began. “So I kind of got into the wellness space, a few years ago. I started doing things that I thought were woo woo and weird, and then all of a sudden as I was doing it, I thought, ‘Wait, I’m calmer, I’m better .’ ”

“Woo woo makes you feel good,” Clarkson declared, with Kotb quickly echoing the statement in agreement.

Kotb went on to reveal that she is launching a wellness app and company, and the new venture will include vacations and a podcast.

“We can get together, do the things I love, and when you’re done, it’s not like you’re going to Mexico with your girlfriends, which is fun, but this is something that when you leave, you’re going, ‘Oh my God. I feel transformed. I feel is different,’ she told Clarkson. “So I’m in the process of building it.”

“It’s so healthy to be a voice for that and build a community for that, because I need—a lot of us need—to be better at it. I say, ‘Go, go, go, go.’ Many of us are. We’re getting exhausted and we don’t know how to be calm or slow down,” Clarkson said.

Kotb said her new project will begin in the spring and promised to tell Clarkson all about it when the time is right.

“Don’t talk to me about it, call me,” Clarkson joked, but Kotb assured her that Clarkson was coming.

Meanwhile, to kick off Kotb’s final week dubbed “Hoda-bration” at Todayhost reunited with 70 of her former Virginia Tech Tri Delta sorority sisters.

Later in the show, her Today with Hoda and Jenna co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, teamed up with one of Kotb’s favorite authors, Charlie Mackesy, author of A boy, a mole, a fox and a horse, and gave her a special picture.

Kotb’s last episode Today and Today with Hoda and Jenna will be broadcast on Friday, January 10. The Today the show airs weekdays on NBC (beginning at 7 a.m. ET).
