Holland Taylor is happy to wear her brooches, thank you very much.
After the 2024 Emmy Awards on September 15, Two and a half men alum, 81, responded to criticism of her red carpet appearance from a certain influencer.
“I really don’t like it when people have brooches on both sides of their lapels. Make it asymmetrical,” TikToker Nicky Campbell said of Taylor’s accessories in a video shared on Instagram and TikTok on September 16.
The actress — who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Morning show — responded with class to Campbell’s opinion.

“I’m generally right with you about your views, but I want to say that while I agree with you about: the wearing of brooches – the clasps – which I wore on a suit, they are usually worn as a pair on either side of the wide neck of the dress, either boat neck or high lapels. My mother bought them. Crazy extravagance for about $37 – 800 in today’s money.”
The term “paste” is used to describe jewelry made of flint glass that is made to imitate the appearance of precious stones.
After seeing Taylor’s explanation, Campbell posted on his Instagram stories, “Eat my words! Duplicate clips are allowed.”
Taylor wasn’t the only star to respond to Campbell’s comments.
Lisa Ann Walter, who wore a white dress with silky chartreuse draped around her silhouette, joked that it was a “sighful honor” when her look only got an “Ugh”.
“I don’t always guess, but I felt wonderful in this. And for a woman my age who doesn’t want to [go on] Ozempic or starve and still look this fierce… I served. He’s adorable though. Maybe he’d be more generous if I gained another 20 pounds.”

Taylor was at the Emmys with girlfriend Sarah Paulson by her side. The two started dating in 2015.
Complementing her partner’s monochromatic Louis Vuitton look, Paulson, 49, wore a royal blue Prada dress with a black mini train and a white bow at the back. She also wore white heels with pointed tips.

The American Horror Story the star shared a cute photo of the two of them posing for the cameras on Instagram.
“Celebrating my one and only and her beautiful performance on @themorningshow,” she wrote. Paulson had her own achievement to celebrate as she was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
