Bachelor Jenn Tran at PEOPLE’s 50th birthday bash with Jonathon Johnson after Devin Strader’s breakup
Jenn joined DWTS just hours after taping the After the Final Rose special, where she revealed that she and fiancé Devin Strader had broken up. In the days following the special, Jenn and Jonathon began posting together on social media.
“All good, no offense,” he wrote on Sept. 7 in an Instagram post accompanied by a TikTok post in which the two joked about how Jenn “broke [Jonathan’s] heart.”
The two claim they’re just friends, sharing a photo together from the PEOPLE 50th birthday red carpet on Sept. 13 with Jack Harlow’s “Already Best Friends” playing in the background. “The song speaks for itself,” Jonathon wrote in the description.
Jenn sent Jonathon home after the fantastic suites, when he admitted that he had taken too long to express his feelings.
“I’ve never been good at validating my feelings — I think a lot of people struggle with validating their own feelings,” he told PEOPLE in August. “And I discovered that on the show, especially with Jenna’s help. So I mean, going forward, I’m just going to say, ‘Hey, do you like this person? Do you like this person? Are you sad? Are you happy? What do you want from this?’ And I just allow myself to feel whole.”

As for Jenn, she previously opened up to PEOPLE about joining DWTS, explaining that she can be shy at times.
“In my head I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to have to do this in front of a live audience and in front of the whole world,'” she said. “And honestly, I feel like my biggest challenge this whole season will be overcoming stage fright. I get so scared and nervous in front of an audience. So that will be a big factor.”
“But other than that, honestly, I feel so excited to throw myself into something that I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m happy, I’m excited,” she added. “It’s good to have something to be happy about.”
