You can bet! Last broadcast on ITV in 1997, with Darren Day as host.

It ran for nine years and the late Bruce Forsyth and Matthew Kelly also previously fronted the show – which sees celebrities bet on members of the public as they face various challenges.

Holly, 43, and Stephen, 47, signed their contracts last month and will host two special shows later this year.

A source said: “Holly is one of ITV’s best presenters and was seen as the perfect fit for You Bet!

“Her partnership with Stephen in Dancing on Ice earlier this year proved they had perfect chemistry and bosses wanted them back on screen.

“This version of You Bet! it will be in the form of two 75-minute specials, but the premise is the same.

“Celebrity fans and studio audiences alike will predict whether the contestants can meet the challenges set before them.

“If the challengers prove the celebrities and the audience wrong and complete the challenge, they receive a £10,000 prize. If a celebrity bets correctly that they can or can’t, they will be awarded £10,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.

“From the big and spectacular to the unique and unexpected, I can’t wait to see what extraordinary skills the challengers have up their sleeves.”

Holly quit This Morning last October following the kidnap threat – which saw security guard Gavin Plumb jailed for life last month with a minimum sentence of 16 years.
