Bryan, best known for his role on Home improvementappeared in an Oregon court Wednesday afternoon to answer to charges of fourth-degree assault, third-degree robbery and harassment following his July 28 arrest.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Lane County Chief Deputy District Attorney Chris Parosa confirmed that the former child actor, 42, “pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony count of domestic violence” at his court appearance.

According to Parosa, Bryan’s second count was dismissed as a “negotiated resolution” term. Instead of facing 19-20 months in prison, he received “a downward departure to 36 months of supervised probation, 7 days in jail, standard domestic violence conditions, no contact with victim without probation officer approval,” Parosa said,

Bryan was previously charged with a similar assault in 2020 after he allegedly strangled a woman.
