New footage comes from CCTV cameras just 200 meters from where the ship sank.

One witness said he looked at his cameras when he heard the news of the sinking, according to Giornale Di Sicilia.

“In just sixty seconds – says the owner of the villa – you can see the ship disappearing.

“Of the twenty or so cameras installed in the house, only one was not disturbed by the wind and rain, you can clearly see what is happening.

“Nothing could be done for the ship. It was gone in a very short time.”

It comes as…

The £14 million luxury yacht capsized on Monday after being caught in a tornado off the coast of Porticello, Sicily.

The frantic search for the six missing continues for the second day.

There is also believed to be another unreleased video showing the ship sinking.

The clock is ticking with drivers trying to break through the roadblocks in the 50 meter deep wreckage.

Now they have opened a hole in the Bayesian ship’s hull to enter in the other direction, Italian newspaper Il Messaggero reports.

The furniture made it impossible for divers to move through the interior of the ship and reach the cabins.

With time running out, brave search and rescue workers only have 10 minutes of work in the water at a time.

They also use an underwater vehicle to assist divers, and five patrol boats and one helicopter that search above the water.

Vincenzo Zagarola, a spokesman for the Coast Guard, said they believed the missing people were still inside because the yacht sank in just a few minutes.

He said: “We think they’re still inside the ship, that’s our very hard idea. Our search and rescue activity by sea and air lasted about 36 hours.

“Of course, we do not exclude that they are not in the ship, but we know that the ship sank quickly.

“We assume that the six missing may not have had time to get out of the boat.”

Who is Mike Lynch?

Author: Georgie English, foreign news reporter

ENTREPRENEUR Mike Lynch is believed to have been missing for hours after a £14 million luxury yacht capsized in a tornado off the coast of Sicily.

The tech tycoon, dubbed “Britain’s Bill Gates”, was one of 22 people sailing on the £166,000-a-week ship, the Telegraph reported this afternoon.

Lynch, 59, sold Autonomy Corporation – a technology company for $11 billion to Hewlett-Packard in 2011.

He was also involved with Invoke Capital and cyber security firm Darktrace.

He was awarded an OBE for services to business in 2006.

Born in Ilford, Lynch had a fireman father from County Cork and a nurse mother from County Tipperary.

Away from work, Mike is married to his wife Angela Bacares and the couple has two children.

In 2023, the Sunday Times Rich List put the couple’s worth at £852 million.

Just weeks ago, Lynch was acquitted by a San Francisco jury after a 12-year legal battle over the sale of his company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard in 2011 for $11 billion.

He was extradited to the US on fraud charges as early as 2023, and a judge set his bail at £79m.

US marshals took Lynch into custody at Heathrow, put him in chains and put him on a United Airlines flight.

It did have a few things going for it, though.

The nature of the case led to a tedious and drawn-out trial, including painstaking parades of jargon-filled emails, reports and spreadsheets, leaving jurors glassy-eyed.

One was even fired for repeatedly falling asleep.

Lynch argued that any questionable activity was completely irrelevant in the context of a successful business bringing in hundreds of millions a year.

While his lawyers argued that the books had been approved by external accountants and that, by British standards, the transactions in question had been properly accounted for.

Lynch was used as the last witness and instead of going “right for the throat,” as his lead attorney Brian Heberlig put it, prosecutors simply “went through the chronology of the documents, no probing questions.” The jury agreed.

Divers are still assessing the safety of the superyacht before they can go in and search for possible survivors.

Those on board said the mast collapsed in stormy weather causing glass to shatter everywhere and the ship to capsize.

The chef who died was tragically named as Recaldo Thomas, a Canadian Antiguan.

Friend Eli Fuller shared a heartbreaking tribute with the BBC, saying of Recaldo: “He knew everyone and was friends with everyone.

“He would always ask how you were, how your family was – he was always positive.

“Personality was very important in his business. The richest people in the world want to associate with someone social. He was in demand.”

Four missing in the Bayesian yacht disaster are British and two are American.

Among them are businessman Mike Lynch, who is called “the British Bill Gates” and his teenage daughter, 18-year-old Hannah Lynch.

Her former school, Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London, released a statement.

It said: “We are all incredibly shocked to hear that Hannah and her father are among the missing in this tragic incident and our thoughts are with their family and everyone involved as we await further updates.”

The international president of the banking giant Morgan Stanley, British Jonathan Bloomer (70), also disappeared together with his wife Judy.

As well as top New York lawyer Chris Morvillo, a lawyer at the big firm Clifford Chance who worked for Mike Lynch and his wife Ned.

Clifford Chance lawyer Ayla Ronald, 36, and her partner were among those rescued.

A Kiwi captured the last photo taken from the Bayesian ship, a beautiful orange sunset just hours before the tragedy.

Ayla was there to celebrate Lynch’s acquittal of fraud charges after he won a US trial in June over the billion-pound sale of his company Autonomy.

Her father Lin said Ayla, 36, sent him a text yesterday saying “there are dead people”, the Telegraph reported.

Another New Zealander who survived the sinking of the ship was Captain James Catfield (51).

He told the Italian media that they did not see the tornado coming.

Among the survivors are South Africans Leah Randall and Katja Chicken who managed to leave the coast guard headquarters yesterday.
