A BABY had a miracle escape last night when a car ploughed into a campsite, injuring nine people.
The holidaymakers were outside their tents when the blue Ford Fiesta lost control at Newgale Camping in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Six victims were rushed to hospital by emergency services at around 10.40pm on Saturday after terrified campsite staff heard “screaming”.
Two of the injured remain in a serious condition.
Campsite bosses have claimed a baby was miraculously protected by their cot when the horror unfolded.
The owner of the campsite Mike Harris claimed that the motor was going “three times the speed limit” when it veered off the road.
He told Sky News: “I didn’t realise a car could go so fast down the road.
“It catapulted from the road because of the speed he was going, over the ditch separating the campsite and main road.
“It landed about 100m from where the driver started braking.
“It turned three full turns and landed on its wheels. It rolled through a tent belonging to a family. The baby was in a cot.”
Police said the vehicle was seen smashing into the tent before flipping onto its side.
A Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “The blue Ford Fiesta, which contained a number of occupants, is believed to have been travelling from Roch towards St Davids veered off the road.
“It crashed into the campsite, colliding with a number of people and a tent, injuring nine, including passengers in the car.”
The young driver, who reportedly passed his driving test in June, was taken to a hospital in Carmarthen, according to The Pembrokeshire Herald.
Mike Harris, campsite owner, told WalesOnline: “It happened at 10.38pm, I had left the campsite four minutes earlier and didn’t hear or see anything.
“My staff heard the screaming and informed me immediately while they called the emergency services.
“I think they first thought there would have been fatalities and that’s why there were so many emergency vehicles here.
“I think one baby was saved purely by the fact it was in a cot.”
The owner also claimed: “There are no fatalities and from what I understand none of the injuries are life-threatening but I would say some are certainly life-changing.”

The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed another victim was rushed to Swansea’s Morriston Hospital.
A spokesman said: “We were called yesterday at around 10.40pm to reports of an incident at Newgale Campsite, Pembrokeshire.
“We sent six emergency ambulances, one duty operations manager, one Cymru high acuity response unit and our crews were supported on scene by the emergency medical and retrieval transfer service and search and rescue helicopter.
“One patient was flown to University Hospital of Wales, four patients were taken by road to Glangwilli Hospital, and one patient was taken by road to Morriston Hospital.”

One visitor who was at the site posted on social media: “We were at the campsite last night and were drifting off to sleep about 10.30ish. Heard a terrible skidding noise and a thud.
“I jumped out of our camper, like many others trying to look/help. At first is was so dark I couldn’t see where the vehicle had entered the site. Within a few mins I could see the people gathering around the area where it happened.
“The emergency vehicles started arriving in huge numbers. We decided to leave the site and head home. My thoughts are with anyone caught up in this horrible event last night and with the emergency services for such a response.”
Police have confirmed that the A487 road through Newgale, was closed but reopened just before 8am today.
Experts were at the scene assessing how the shocking incident happened and it has been reported that the vehicle was travelling at a high speed.
A witness told The Herald: “There’s got to be 10 police cars and ambulances down here. A lot of emergency services.”
Another witness who was at the scene said: “We’ve just travelled back home to Haverfordwest and I’ve never seen so many ambulances on blue lights and police cars.”
People living in the area reportedly heard the sound of screeching tyres and a loud bang.
A spokesperson from the force added: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision, which saw a car crash off the A487 and into a campsite in Pembrokeshire last night.
“At shortly after 10.30pm calls were made to emergency services reporting the collision at Newgale Campsite.”
