House of the Dragon Season 2 to Debut in June

The house of the dragon Season 2 will premiere in June, PEOPLE can confirm.

The director of Warner Bros. Discovery for streaming and gaming JB Perrette revealed the release date speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference, Diversity reported on Monday. He did not share a more specific day of the premiere.

The news comes after HBO and Max head of content Casey Bloys teased that the new episodes will Game of Thrones the prequel series will be announced in the summer during a press event in November 2023.

A second season was greenlit in August 2022, following the immediate success of the series premiere. The debut episode garnered the largest audience for any new original series in HBO history, with more than 20 million viewers in the US alone.
