The last day to decide on a higher pension under the employee pension plan has been extended to 11 July. Employees who are interested in a higher pension relative to the actual salary they receive. be able to simply register on EPFO’s single portal.
In case an individual wants a higher pension, the portal provides a ‘higher pension: make a joint selection’ link for that member. The applicant will have to fill in basic details like name, joint account number, DOB, Aadhaar and mobile number associated with Aadhaar.
The applicant will then need to upload a general selection from the employer. Once the joint option is confirmed, the member will be asked to provide the savings account details of all previous jobs. EPFO automatically fills in some member details. However, if members want to provide more information about other workplaces, they can fill out that information.
A member who wishes to opt for a higher pension under the Employee Pension Scheme will also need to submit details of the latest PF reports. These statements will be for 2022-2023.
Once the details are submitted successfully, a confirmation number will be provided to the member. EPFO officials are then expected to process the claims. Then mail will be sent to members with request.
So far EPFO ββis known to have issued around 1000 request letters.
