How Did The Crown End? All About the Royal Drama’s Final Bow on Netflix

CrownReign has officially ended on Netflix with the second part of the sixth and final season.

On Thursday, the streamer released Part 2 of the sixth season of the hit drama inspired by the lives of the British royal family, bringing the saga to a close after six seasons. While the four episodes of Part 1, released on November 16, focused on Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and her last summer before her death in a car accident in Paris in 1997, Part 2, told in six episodes, took a broader view to conclude more stories.

The 72-minute “Sleep, Dearie Sleep” begins circa 2005 and sees Prince Charles (Dominic West) asking Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton) for permission to finally marry Camilla Parker Bowles (Olivia Williams). The ruler has hesitations and her thoughts are elsewhere, as her advisers lead her to plan Operation London Bridge – the code name for her funeral arrangements.

Thinking about it, the Queen asks Prince William (Ed McVey) and Prince Harry (Luther Ford) for their blessing. Perhaps hinting at an impending rift, William says yes on their behalf for the sake of his father’s happiness – leaving Harry speechless.
