While the hit CBS sitcom mostly focused on Ted finding love while living in New York with his friends, Henrie and Lyndsy Fonseca (who played Ted’s daughter Penny) were featured in scenes set in the year 2030, when Ted recounted the story of how he met the mother of his children.

The series ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014. Radnor starred alongside Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel. The series was narrated by Bob Saget as Ted in the future and eventually revealed that Tracy McConnell is Cristina Milioti’s eponymous mother.

In September, Radnor celebrated the 18th anniversary of the show’s premiere on September 19, 2005. The actor marked the occasion with a throwback photo of the cast in a booth at the fictional MacLaren’s Pub, smiling for the camera as Segel snapped a selfie.

He continued: “I am extremely grateful to have been a part of a show that continues to mean so much to so many people. It’s hard to fully appreciate something like that in the moment, but all these years later, I’ve gotten nothing but love for that show and the people I made it with.”

“Thank you all for continuing to watch and quote it and remind me of the hilarity and depth of what we have created. It means a lot. And happy 18th HIMYM!!” Radnor concluded.

Smulders commented on the post, writing, “We WERE babies!!!!!! What a fantastic ride. ❤️xo.”

“@cobiesmulders and you were the cutest baby of all babies!” Radnor responded to Smulders, 41.
