Justin Theroux Attends Humane Society Gala Alongside Dog Kuma and Actress Nicole Brydon Bloom

Justin Theroux stepped out with actress Nicole Brydon Bloom for a good cause on Friday night.

Mosquito Coast actor, 52, co-hosted the Humane Society’s The Rescue! Gala in New York and was photographed on the red carpet with his rescue puppy Kum.

The star wore a black suit with a matching tie for the event as he posed holding Kuma’s multicolored leash. The adorable brown pit bull mix then sat patiently in front of Theroux as photographers snapped him solo with gala co-host Amy Sedaris.

Bloom, 29, was also in attendance, though she and Theroux arrived separately. The Here at the exit The actress appeared to check out the event herself, but was spotted sitting next to Theroux at his table. She appeared to take out her phone several times to snap photos and clips of him and Kuma when he took the stage to introduce.

At the end of the evening, Bloom was seen wearing Theroux’s jacket around her shoulders to keep warm before joining him backstage ahead of the auction.

The couple has been cozying up in New York for the past few months. They were recently photographed leaving the gym together at the end of October. They were also spotted showing off some PDA in late August while dining together at Altro Paradiso restaurant in New York City with another couple.

Theroux and Bloom first sparked dating rumors after attending a Netflix event together in February at New York’s Zero Bond club.

In addition to his Hollywood career, Theroux is also passionate about animals. The actor has long advocated for animal rescue, having worked with rescue groups including Austin Pets Alive! before welcoming your own pet. In 2018, he shared that he took in Kuma, who was found in the debris of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, after hearing her story through his advocacy work.

In June, he celebrated his five-year anniversary with the dog, marking the special occasion with a heartfelt post on Instagram.

“TODAY! 5 years with this derpy!” he captioned his post, which featured a selfie of the couple and three adorable photos of Kuma.

The White House plumbers the star also included a message encouraging her followers to adopt and rescue dogs. “If you’re thinking about getting a dog, visit your local shelter,” he wrote. “There are TENS OF THOUSANDS of Godfathers out there who would love to make your life that much better.”

Over the years, Theroux has also shared photos and videos of himself and the pup hanging out at bars and enjoying candlelit “date nights.” He told PEOPLE 2021 that his favorite activity with Godfather is “waking up” next to her.

“That’s my favorite thing, because she’s going to lay like this,” he said, imitating a puppy lying in bed. “She puts her head down completely on the pillows, I mean she sleeps like humans. And it’s very nice to wake up in the morning and have her there with me.”
