After seven seasons of what was once a quirky murder mystery coming-of-age drama before a proper supernatural thriller came along, Riverdale is finally coming to an end. Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teased that the finale will be bittersweet, telling TVLine, “When they renewed us for a seventh season, even though we weren’t told at the time that it would be our final season, I think we all felt that it could,
“When Mark and I talked about it… it was bittersweet. That said, we’re very proud of the achievement we’ve had, and the call came when we were working on the final episode of Season 6… We were discussing the final beat of that episode and we were torn between a huge turnaround and a quieter ending. And that’s definitely continued an exciting boost to us.”

Camila Mendes, who played Veronica Lodge in the hit series, shared an Instagram post to mark the end of the series, writing: “This is the end of Veronica. There is no description or copy of the photo to illustrate the emotional experience of filming our final episode of Riverdale.

“I’m not just saying goodbye to a TV series, I’m saying goodbye to the entire life I’ve created in Vancouver, to a transformative period that shaped me as an adult, to a community of people who have seen the best and worst of me in seven intense seasons.”

Will there be a Riverdale spin-off?
That thing! It looks like there will be a new Archie Comics spin-off, and this time it will focus on Jake Chang. Although there are two other series from the same universe, including Katy Keene and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Deadline reports that Jake Change will follow the teenage private detective.
There will be another spin-off from Archie Comics
Creators Oanh Ly and Viet Nguyen said of the project in a joint statement that read: “We are very proud and honored to be part of this new wave of Asian-American content created and starred by Asian-Americans. Jake Chang’s world is vast, engaging, and a lot of fun. And just like how our aggressive teen detectives based on the original IP’F and we’ll all be” familiar jokes and tell a unique Asian-American story.
