“When I look back and look at my journey…the family I had, the opportunities my family had, the great fortune to stumble upon [Frances Robathan], who has now been my wife and lover all these years, the kids we raised…she didn’t feel like a failure,” he said on the Desperately Seeking Wisdom podcast in 2022. Adam and Matthew are two of George and Frances’ children. George claimed that his children kept him grounded, despite being famous as a celebrity. When your kids advise you to stay in the car while you drive them to school, “Dad, don’t get out of the car,” he said, “it’s sobering.”
