Season 14 of Shark Tank will begin on September 23, with several business giants acting as Sharks. Daymond John, entrepreneur, fashion designer, author and television personality with a net worth of $350 million as of April 2023, is one of them. Shark Tank highlights aspiring entrepreneurs who pitch their company ideas to the Sharks in hopes of getting an investment. If the Sharks appreciate a competitor’s offer, they will decide to help them build their own business.

“Sharks offer aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to negotiate commercial deals that could make them billionaires.”
Daymond John of Shark Tank runs an online training program for entrepreneurs.
Daymond was ten years old when his parents divorced in Brooklyn, New York. Therefore, he started working odd jobs to support his family. One of his first jobs was handing out flyers for $2 an hour. He then started a high school program that allowed him to work full-time and complete his education on an alternate schedule.
After graduation, he worked as a waiter at Red Lobster and started a passenger car business. He founded FUBU, which stands for “For Us By Us,” at his mother’s home in Queens when he was 20 years old. His work combines his passion for hip-hop and fashion. Furthermore, the concept targets a young and urban clientele. Due to her son’s love and interest in fashion, his mother mortgaged her house for $100,000 in seed funding. With that, the Shark Tank judges started selling a large number of printed t-shirts.
Power Show, Inner Brand, Power of Break, and Rise & Sharpen: Work Effectively, Outperform, and Get Out on your way to a more successful and rewarding life are some of John’s works. His novels were on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. The NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Teaching Literature has been presented to The Power of Broke. Specifically, John was an executive producer of the 2005 film The Crow: The Cruel Prayer. He is the founder and current CEO of The Shark Group, a brand management and consulting firm, and a brand ambassador for Shopify.
He co-founded Daymond John’s Success Formula in 2015, a program that teaches entrepreneurs how to build their businesses. In 2019, he renamed his curriculum to Success at the Next Level. Daymond on Demand is an online training program for entrepreneurs offered by business people.
Other work and personal life
The Shark Tank judge has received several honors, including NAACP Entrepreneur of the Year, Ernst & Young New York Entrepreneur of the Year, and two Congressional Entrepreneurial Achievement Awards. His brand FUBU is on display at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Furthermore, John received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Regarding his family, John has two children from his previous marriage, Destiny and Yasmeen. He married Heather Taras in 2018 and the couple has a daughter Minka Jagger. The show will premiere on September 23 at 8:00 PM ET.
