Her co-star John Travolta shared his grief on social media, saying she made everyone’s life better and had a huge impact. Following the death of the Australian singer and one of the biggest pop artists of the 1970s, Newton’s husband, Johnin John Easterling, took to the singer’s verified Instagram account and wrote:

“Olivia has been a symbol of victory and hope for over 30 years, sharing her battle with breast cancer.”

In 1992, the singer and actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her cancer returned in 2017, spreading to her lower back. The cancer had spread to her bones and was in stage four.
