How to delete or deactivate a Gmail account?
- Make sure to backup your Gmail data first and then start the deletion process.
- Now open your Google account page
- In the menu on the left, click Data & Personalization.
- Then, on the “Download, remove, or create a plan for your data plan” page, select Remove service or your account.
- In the Remove Google Service panel, click “Remove Service” and you will be prompted to sign in again.
- Under “Gmail”, select Delete by clicking the “Trash” icon.
- Now enter an alternate email address that you can use to access the Google dialog.
- Select Send a confirmation email.
- In the specified account, open the email from ([email protected]). The email account will have the subject “Security warning for your linked Google account” or “Gmail deletion confirmation”.
- Click the remove link in the message.
- You may need to sign in to your Gmail account that you want to delete.
- On the request page, select Yes, I want to delete.
- Click Delete Gmail
- Tap Done.
Important note: To use the Gmail app offline, be sure to clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
Remove from iOS and iPhone:
- Go to the Gmail app on your device, then click “Menu.”
- Now go to Settings and then to Your Account
- On the application screen, click Manage your Google account.
- Click on Data and personalization
- On the “Get, remove, or create a plan for your data” page, click “Remove a service or your account.”
- Click Remove Service and sign in if necessary
- Click the “Trash” icon next to “Gmail”
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the removal.

How to completely delete a Google account?
