The Election Commission of India is responsible under Article 324 of the Constitution for the supervision, management and control of the preparation of the electoral roll.” This development also comes just days after the government revealed its intentions to build a recognizable identity that would be linked to the Aadhaar card and help protect the rights of migrant workers.
