It’s normal to make some mistakes, and if you deleted your Gmail account by mistake, it’s probably gone forever. If you deleted it a few days ago, you have a better chance of getting it back. However, those accounts that were deleted months or years ago have no chance of recovery. But you can still try your luck if you remember your Gmail username and password; In case you don’t remember your password, you should have access to the phone number associated with your Gmail account.
Important- You can’t recover a deleted Gmail account if you can’t remember your password and don’t have a phone number associated with it.
Steps to recover a permanently deleted Gmail account
Scenario 1: If you remember your password
- Go to this link in your web browser: https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/recoveryidentifier?flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=ServiceLogin
- Enter your ‘Gmail Username’ you want to recover and click ‘Next’.
- You will see a message saying ‘This account was recently deleted and can be recovered’; if you don’t see this message, it means your account cannot be recovered; press ‘Next’ to continue.
- Then enter your Gmail account password and click ‘Next’.
- You will see the message ‘Success: You have recovered your account’; after that, you can successfully login to your Gmail account.
Scenario 2: If you don’t remember your password
- Go to this link in your web browser: https://accounts.google.com/signin/v2/recoveryidentifier?flowName=GlifWebSignIn&flowEntry=ServiceLogin
- Enter your ‘Gmail Username’ you want to recover and click ‘Next’.
- You will see a message saying ‘This account was recently deleted and can be recovered’; if you don’t see this message, it means your account cannot be recovered; press ‘Next’ to continue.
- When prompted for your password, click ‘Try another way’
- Now click ‘Submit’ to receive the verification code on your number.
- Enter the code and click ‘Confirm’.
- You may also need to verify your recovery email address if you added it to your Gmail account.
- After verification, you can easily create a new password for your Gmail account.
After that, your deleted Gmail account will be recovered and you will see the message ‘Success: You have recovered your account’
