The first trailer of the new work has been released How to train your dragon Movie. The trailer begins with a long shot of the Nordic island of Berk How to train your dragon Already set. Stoick’s voice said to Hiccup: “When you carry this ax, you carry all of us with you” Hiccup insists that he doesn’t have what it takes to kill a dragon while showing off a bunch of CGI dragons. The trailer continues with more familiar storylines being revealed, including Hiccup’s introduction to Toothless. In addition to the story similarities, there are several elements that mimic the animated film fairly directly. For example, the trailer ends with an iconic shot of Hiccup calmly placing his hand on Toothless’s nose. The score at the end of the trailer also sounds nearly identical to the original, Oscar-nominated score from the first film. The latter detail makes sense, as composer John Powell will be returning to score the live-action film. The homage to the first film suggests this live-action version will remain fairly faithful.

While the other characters look a little different from their original counterparts, Toothless is scaled down to look almost identical to the animated dragon How to train your dragon. That sense of familiarity may make people like the film, but it may also lead to harsher comparisons. As the trailer rolls out, it will be interesting to see how audiences react to its visual style.
