How to Vote for Your Favorite Contestants on American Idol

The American Idol The season 22 finale is here and it’s time to vote for the next winner.

Since its inception more than 20 years ago, ABC’s singing competition show has unearthed an array of talent, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson. Now, host Ryan Seacrest and judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie witness another installment coming to a close as the final three contestants compete for the big title.

Before Abi Carter, Will Moseley and Jack Blocker earned their places in the American Idol However, in the 2024 final, several rounds of auditions, performances and themed evenings awaited them.

After season 22 began in February, five rounds of auditions were held, during which only three aspiring singers were awarded platinum tickets, including Abi. The latest iteration of The Golden Ticket offered a chance to skip Hollywood Week, where the pool was whittled down from 56 contestants to the final 24 for the Showstopper round.

Fast forward to May, hours of practice and performances culminated with only three contestants left on stage — the result of viewers listening and voting for their favorite singers each week.

Ahead of the Season 22 finale, the final five faced off during a two-part Disney night. Abi performed the song “Part of Your World” from Little Mermaid and “Chain” from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Meanwhile, Jack sang “Nobody’s Fool” from Cars 2 and “Space Oddity” by David Bowie. To top things off, Will sang “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” from Toy story 4 and “Born to Be Wild” from D3: Mighty Ducks.

Triston Harper and Emmy Russell were eliminated.

From every season American Idol has several different rounds, air dates and times may vary depending on the contestant’s progress. You can check the show’s website and app to find out when voting opens and closes each week.

Voting takes place during each live broadcast from coast to coast and ends during the final commercial break.

How can I vote? American Idol?

There are three ways to vote American Idol: online, via app and via text.

Each week you can cast up to 10 votes for each contestant per voting method. So you can vote for your favorite contestant 10 times online, 10 times in the app and 10 times via SMS, for a total of 30 votes.

If you change your mind, you can redistribute your votes until voting closes online and in the app — just click “save” each time you edit.

On the line

If you are at least 16 years old and located in the US, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands, you can vote online at the ABC website. You will need an ABC account which you can sign up for with your email address.

If you are at least 16 years old and live in the US, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands, you can cast your vote at American Idol app, available for iOS and Android.

After downloading the app to your device, you will need to log in to your ABC account. If you don’t have one, you can create one using your email address.

Text

To vote via text message, text the number of the contestant you are voting for to 21523. Voting via SMS is open to all wireless carriers, and text and data charges may apply. The number for each competitor is as follows:

Abi Carter: SMS 8 to 21523

Will Moseley: SMS 11 to 21523

Jack Blocker: send SMS 20 to 21523

American Idol airs Sundays at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT on ABC.

You can watch American Idol live on TV through your cable provider, online through ABC’s website, or through a live-streaming service with an ABC channel, such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV, or Sling TV.
