Hrishita Niladri Basu was born on Friday, January 30, 2004 (age 19 years 2023) from Howrah, West Bengal. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius. She grew up in Vivekanandapalli in Howrah’s Baritikuli district and used to play gully cricket with the boys from the neighborhood. She attended St. Thomas Mission School, Howrah. She has been active in sports since she was a child and played many sports at school, including basketball, soccer and kho-kho. Hrishita has a brother and a sister. Her sister Ihita Basu Thapa works at Sunknowledge and is also an athlete. Her brother used to play cricket for second-tier clubs in Kolkata, but he later quit the sport to focus on his studies.

Hrishita Basu was selected for the Bangladesh Women’s U19 team at the age of 15. She made her debut for Bangladesh Women’s U19 team against Goa. In this match, Bangladesh batted 7 wickets behind and scored 19 runs. Her perfect performance with the bat along with Srilekha Roy helped Bengal to victory, with Basu scoring 43 runs and Roy contributing 33 runs. She represented the India A team in the Women’s Under-19 T20 Challenger Cup (2022). She was part of the India A team that won the 2022 Quad Women’s U19 T20 series. In November 2022, she was selected for the India U19 women’s team for the home series against New Zealand. In December 2022, she was selected for the India Under-19 women’s team for the 2022/23 tour of South Africa. Thereafter, she was included in India’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
