A MAN has died and another person suffered “serious injuries” after a powerful explosion hit a house.

Some locals felt the shock wave and heard a loud bang around 7.30am, reports the Bedford Independent.
The video shows flames and smoke billowing from a house on a residential street full of greenery.
One person died and another was taken to hospital with “serious injuries”, officers said.
Neighbors were evacuated, and other residents were asked to keep their windows open.
Emergency services are now investigating the cause of the deadly explosion.
Detective Chief Superintendent Zara Brown said: “Our thoughts are first and foremost with the family and friends of the person who has sadly died and the person who is being treated in hospital.
“We understand that this incident is very concerning for those who live nearby.
“We are still advising people to avoid the Cleat Hill area while works are being carried out at the scene.”
