Hugh Jackman Celebrates Birthday Alongside Estranged Wife Deborra-lee Jackman at Swanky N.Y.C. Dinner

Hugh Jackman celebrated his 55th birthday with his estranged wife Deborra-lee Jackman.

On Friday, the actor took to Instagram to share photos from his 55th birthday bash at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar in New York City, an upscale celebrity favorite. The actor’s rep confirms that Deborra-lee joined Hugh along with family and close friends.

“It was a great celebration,” a source told PEOPLE.

“Thank you EVERYONE for the birthday love!!!” he captioned his post. “I read your messages, watch special videos and experience all the feelings. 🥹”

The The greatest showman The star also shared a glimpse of her birthday dessert. He posted a photo of a decadent-looking ice cream in a cup of tea on his Instagram Story. The sign on it read “Happy Birthday Hugh Jackman!” in chocolate sauce.

Throwback photos of Hugh Jackman in honor of his 55th birthday

This is Hugh’s first birthday since he and Deb, 67, decided to end their marriage amicably.

Last month, the couple said in a statement they shared exclusively with PEOPLE, “We have been blessed to share nearly 3 decades together as husband and wife in a beautiful, loving marriage. Our journey is now changing and we have decided to separate to continue our individual growth.”

“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We enter this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness,” they added. “We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family goes through this transition in all of our lives.”

The Australian couple, who have two children – Oscar (23) and Ava (18) – have been married for 27 years.

On his actual birthday on Thursday, Hugh marked another trip around the sun with a morning stroll around New York with pals Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

The trio were photographed strolling the streets of the Big Apple in a casual combination, with Hugh wearing an Under Armor tracksuit, trainers, a navy hat and sunglasses.

the same morning, Logan the actor posted his memory of his teenage photo on Instagram. In the clip, the then-future actor wore a bright suit while standing outside in the middle of a grassy landscape, pulling a hilarious (and not very Wolverine!) face at the camera.

“I was an assistant (assistant) on the football team. #throwbackthursday,” Hugh recalled in the caption.

“You had Wolverine in you before you were,” one fan wrote in the comments, referring to the actor’s playful snarling expression reminiscent of his iconic The X-Men character.
