Hugh Jackman Says He Got in ‘Trouble’ at Rockefeller Tree on Christmas but ‘Nice’ Guard Gave Him a ‘Warning’

Hugh Jackman shares how his Christmas morning in New York went.

The actor, 55, said on Instagram that he got up early to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center on Monday, but was warned by security guards for getting too close.

Jackman shared videos and photos from the visit, starting with a short clip of himself walking through the square. Then he turns and flashes a big smile at the camera with his arms outstretched in front of a tree.

“I highly recommend getting up really early on Christmas morning and walking to the Rockefeller Christmas tree,” Jackman wrote in the caption. “It’s so beautiful and not crowded at all.”

He continued: “I got in trouble for going over the barrier, but the security guard was kind enough to let me in with just a warning.”

On Sunday, the actor posed with another Christmas tree and wrote to his followers: “Happy Christmas!”

The break comes after Jackman split amicably from wife Deborra-lee in September. The couple did celebrate his 55th birthday together at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar in New York in October.

Jackman is also often seen with his Dead pool costar and friend Ryan Reynolds on morning walks around town, with Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively sometimes joining in. The friends also attended the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium along with Lively’s friend Taylor Swift in early October.

Jackman and Reynolds will reprise their Marvel characters Wolverine and Deadpool in the superhero sequel, which was in the middle of filming before the Hollywood actors went on strike in July.

Shawn Levy, who is directing the film, opened up about their bromance in an interview with Los Angeles Times at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

“It’s freaking real,” Levy said of the actors’ close bond. “The boys love each other almost as much as Ryan Reynolds and I love each other – because that love affair is a story for all time.”
