Humaira Himu committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan on November 2, 2023. She reportedly committed suicide after an argument with her boyfriend. She was buried on November 3, 2023, next to her mother’s grave at the Lamchari Jame Mosque in Lakshmipur.

Following investigations, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested her friend Mohammad Ziauddin Rufi, also known as Urfi Zia, in connection with her death. Shimu was reportedly in a relationship with Ulfizia for a long time. He is married to someone else, but still has an extramarital affair with Ximu. After his arrest, Ziauddin admitted that he had an argument with Shimu before his death. He said that Ximu often threatened to commit suicide and that she also threatened him the day before her suicide. He said he tried to pull her from the rope but was unable to save her. He immediately took her to Uttara Adunike Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. However, he left the hospital before police arrived. He also revealed that Himu had become addicted to gambling over the past two to three years and wasted huge amounts of money on an online gambling app called Bigo Live.
