Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, Disney Treasuresets sail on its maiden voyage in December. But first, he made a quick stop in New York, where PEOPLE got a sneak peek inside.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the 1,119-foot, 1,246-cabin ship welcomed its first guests for a day-long preview that included a tour (and tasting) of its new features.
Of course, the most buzz was about the Haunted Mansion Parlour, a bar and lounge dedicated to the cult favorite theme park ride. And we’re happy to report that the utterly spooky — and surprisingly intimate — space lives up to the hype.
Upon entering the dimly lit room, cruisers will feel as if they have been instantly transported to the classic dark ride, which can be found at five Disney parks around the world, including Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Flickering lamps draped in cobwebs illuminate portraits along the walls and a collection of Victorian-style furniture that serves as seating in the living room. A large bubble aquarium, complete with ghost fish, sits in the center of the room across from a spacious wooden bar, where a familiar face might appear in the mirror.

Drinks include specialty cocktails such as a foggy margarita with the Haunted Mansion logo glowing under a black light; two themed beers (Hoppy Haunts IPA and Pallor Mortis Ale); and sparkling bottles of non-alcoholic offerings, like Sour Shivers Lemonade and Crawly Cola.

The lounge is open to guests of all ages until 9 p.m., after which it becomes an adults-only area until 1 a.m. Disney has not revealed how it will book visits to the space (whether by reservations, timed entry, or some other method). , the scariest thing might be trying to secure a spot.

Elsewhere on Treasure, which will offer seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbeans, is equipped with some of Disney’s favorite cruise features from previous ships and a handful of exciting extras.
Another theme park ride gets the bar/lounge treatment at Skipper Society, a hangout inspired by the favorite Jungle Cruise attraction. AND 20,000 miles under the sea (both the classic movie and the defunct Magic Kingdom ride) inspired the Periscope Pub, which is supposed to look like you’ve stepped into Captain Nemo’s Nautilus submarine.

The Coco-thematic Plaza de la Familia is the star of the new ship’s dining rooms. Guests will step into a stunning Dia de Muertos celebration hosted by the film’s protagonist, Miguel, with celebrity appearances, all while dining on classic Mexican fare. The ofrenda right at the entrance, fans of the animated film will cry.

The ship’s most advanced offering will be available only to a select few: an elegant Epcot-themed tower suite. The two-story, three-bedroom cabin, located within the forward flow of the ship, features a design inspired by Florida Park’s iconic Spaceship Earth,

Walt’s original plans for the community of tomorrow—and a few hidden surprises. Although Disney did not disclose the price of the package, the unofficial Disney blog, WDW Magazine, reported that the equivalent package on Disney Desire a ship can cost as much as $30,000 per trip.

The Treasure is the sixth ship in Disney’s rapidly growing cruise fleet. Two more have already been announced: Disney Fate and Disney Adventurewhich will both set sail in 2025.
