‘I love you, but you kill me’ Huw Edwards’ vile messages to teen victim & depths of grooming revealed in Sun documentary

CRUEL messages sent by Huw Edwards to the teenager at the center of our original revelations about the disgraced BBC journalist today reveal the depth of his grooming.

A new Sun documentary about the presenter’s sick behavior shows how he sent a series of controlling and abusive messages to the young man, who sent him sexual images in return for payments of tens of thousands of pounds.

The exchanges reveal Edwards’ secret Jekyll and Hyde persona as he alternates between repeatedly telling his victim that he loves him – before viciously abusing him in derogatory tirades.

Edwards also instructs the young man on using PayPal and a Monzo bank account to send him cash.

At today’s sentencing, it was separately revealed that Edwards also sent money via WhatsApp to a convicted pedophile who sent him indecent images of children.

Alex Williams was sent between £1,000 and £1,500 by Edwards.

It suggests that Edwards had a pattern of sending money to people who delivered sexual images.

The messages we are revealing today were sent to the unnamed young man at the center of our original revelations about Edwards, which were published in July 2023.

A young man who had drug problems received as much as £35,000 from the disgraced presenter.

Experts say the messages show a clear pattern of “grooming”.

At one point, Edwards tells the vulnerable teenager, “I love you, but you’re killing me.”

In another he says: “You think my life revolves around you?

“Get fucking real.”

In The Sun’s documentary on the scandal “Huw Edwards Unmasked”, the vulnerable victim’s mum talks about her shock when she discovered texts between her son and Edwards.

She said: “When I first saw the messages I was sick, I was disgusted.

“I feel sick to my stomach. There were so many of them.

“On New Year’s Eve on New Year’s Eve. Even when Huw was with his family . . .

“To call your son a ‘good boy’. Sending him kisses and love hearts…

“Even to tell him that he loves him. But then others, more aggressively, call my son all kinds of things.

Paedo’s behavior pattern

By Scarlet Howes

NIGHT after night, he rigorously delivered the most important news to the nation, and won countless awards with his authoritative style.

But outside his famous desk, as we discovered, Huw Edwards was a manipulative pedophile who used the same pattern of behavior over and over again to feed his ruthless desires.

Some 437 days since the Sun’s bombshell cover – Edwards appeared in court today to learn his fate, his once glittering career in ruins.

Our exposé that he paid a young man thousands of pounds for sexual images made headlines around the world and set off a chain of events that plunged the BBC into crisis.

And Edwards – at the time the BBC’s highest-paid newsreader – never appeared on our screens again.

Today, a court heard how Edwards paid a younger convicted pedophile £1,500 for child sex images and videos of children he described as “amazing”.

The case centered on text messages between sex offender Alex Williams, who was a teenager when they began their relationship, and 63-year-old Edwards.

We must be clear, the facts of that case are unrelated to our original story.

But there are some alarming similarities in his conversations with both young people – and a pattern of deeply disturbing behaviour.

He got in touch with both of them on social networks, sent them messages on WhatsApp, harassed them to take pictures, and then gave them money.

There were kisses and distribution of Christmas gifts.

It’s creepy that he even bought both of them, decades younger, a pair of tennis shoes.

And all in exchange for sexual pictures.

The cash was used as leverage for the men, one homeless, the other a student, who could only dream of his top salary.

What The Sun discovered was a pattern of behavior and had we not done so, Edwards might have gone undetected.

In one exchange – on New Year’s Eve 2022 – Edwards sends the young man a series of abusive messages.

“Stop being a k*bi talk to me tomorrow when you sober up.”

“Now listen to me. If you want help in the future, stop with that shit, ok.”

– You disappointed me.

“I’m sorry I helped you so much.”

“I should have known.”

“You should know better.”

The film reveals that in a second exchange on February 18 last year, Edwards again unleashes a barrage of abuse on his young victim – and worries his secret payments in exchange for sexual images will be exposed.

He wrote: “You are a disaster area.”

“Why does this keep happening??!??”

“I’m with the family and stop being a pain.”

“I’m sick of you getting into trouble all the time.”

– Don’t be stupid.

“My Monzo is easy to track down.”

“I can’t do anything else for PayPal.”

“You’re really really testing my patience.”

“I don’t need this fucking shit.”

“Delete these messages if it’s not your phone ok???”

“Send me your Monzo info you idiot.”

“You make me so mad.”

“What are you talking about your fucking disaster.”

“Fuck you.”

“Get fucking real.”

“I’ll tell you what. I’ll stop helping you then you’ll see what carelessness is.”

“Fuck you.”

“You are an ungrateful motherfucker.”

But in the same exchange, Edwards suddenly turns around and tells the young man that he loves him and wants to meet him in Wales.

He posted: “I fucking love you… but you’re killing me x”

“I love you seriously x”

“I will never finish you. Idiot. You know that. X”

“Next time in Cardiff you have to see me x”

— Good boy.

“Don’t forget.”

“I love you x”

Our investigation also reveals that a few days later Edwards texted the boy again after sending him more cash. He wrote: “I love you.

“Don’t forget.

“It’s good to know you’re loved X.”

But the star presenter’s mood later changed again after the young victim called him in the middle of the night.

Edwards texted: “I can’t believe you would respect my situation.

“Now leave me alone.

“You’re actually calling me at 2 in the morning? Fuck it.

“You call me at 2 am even when I told you to stop ??????

You’re so fucking out of line.

“Grow up.

“Just grow up.

“And when someone helps you – show respect.”

“Edwards completely fits the profile of a sexual predator,” says the former Met police officer

Former police officer and Internet expert Jonathan Taylor said Edwards “absolutely” fits the profile of a sexual predator.

Jonathan, who spent 10 years working undercover with the Met Police to catch the groomer, said: “You had a young vulnerable person and a family crying out for help but Huw didn’t offer professional help as any adult would or He used it to his advantage.

“The parents concerned must have been concerned that Edwards had condemned their child to a lifetime of drug use.”

He said the exchanges between the 17-year-old and the powerful host were typical of groomers.

He added: “Hugh made the decision to make contact with this person rather than reject contact with someone much younger.

“These exchanges were ones I would see as an undercover police officer posing as a young person. I would remain completely passive and the other person, in this case Huw, would try to instigate meetings.

“This shows a pattern of behavior and I would not be at all surprised if more young people came forward.

“Edwards completely fits the profile of a sexual predator.”

The Sun revealed in July 2023 that Edwards had paid the young man at least £35,000 in exchange for the sexual images.

Mom said: My son told me everything. Huw Edwards paid him for sexual images.

“Huw Edwards was paying him to perform sexually. My son. We had to stop it.

“Suddenly out of nowhere he had money to spend. He started showing me deposits in his bank account of £2,000 each. That money, that fueled his addiction.

“I asked his cousin who pays him and they said it was an old man with gray hair.

“I couldn’t believe it, my 17-year-old son was being sent money by a gray-haired man.

“I knew it had to be something sexual, but at the time I didn’t even realize he was gay. He didn’t get back to me until later.

“He sent me a picture of Huw Edwards sitting on the sofa in his boxers, leaning forward as if he was about to cuddle – while my son performed for him. They would have sex in a video call and Edwards would pay him for it.

“Huw Edwards was a man in his sixties and my son was a teenager. That was not normal.

“I didn’t like what my son was saying or showing me. But as his mother, I was worried and I didn’t want him to stop confiding in me.

“Once my son said to me, ‘Do you think I’m the only one, Mom?’

“And I had to say, ‘No, love. There will be others.’

“It was heartbreaking.

“I liked that man. He was always my favorite on TV. My favorite. He was Welsh, like us.

“And then sometimes I could hear my son on the phone with him and I could hear the evil man talking.

“The next day I would see him presenting the news on TV and I would see evil.”

The Sun has released its documentary ‘Huw Edwards: Unmasked’ which lifts the lid on the predatory pedophile – you can watch it on thesun.co.uk and our YouTube channel.
