An emergency warning has been issued to customers in ICELAND due to a product recall due to fears of a health hazard.
A popular supermarket has pulled an own-brand item from its shelves because it may contain milk that is not listed on the label.

An Icelandic two-pack of Balti with vegetables has been urgently recalled due to the risk of allergies.
The affected products have a Best By date of 09/07/26, 9 July 2026 and are 280g packs.
A statement on food.gov.uk read: “Iceland Foods Ltd is recalling Iceland 2 Vegetable Balti Bakes as it may contain milk that is not stated on the label.
“This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic or intolerant to milk or milk ingredients.”
Stores have advised Icelandic customers to check if they have purchased the affected item.
“If you have purchased any of the above products, DO NOT eat,” the supermarket warned.
“Please return to any store in Iceland for a full refund. No receipt required.”
A spokesperson said: “We are taking the precaution of recalling this date code of the above product as it may contain undeclared milk and therefore poses a potential risk to people who are allergic or intolerant to milk.
“Effective only on the best-before date specified in this notice.”
Customers are directed to contact their store manager or Icelandic Customer Service on 0800 328 0800 if they have any issues.
Your product recall rights
PRODUCT recall is an important means of consumer protection against dangerous goods.
As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer usually has primary responsibility for the recall action.
But it is often left to supermarkets to notify customers when products may endanger them.
